Streetsblog San Francisco

by Peter Smith

Streetsblog San Francisco is one step closer. And presumably, so too is San Francisco BRT.

My enthusiasm for Streetsblog over the past couple of months has been greatly tempered by my distaste for BRT. Streetsblog is probably the strongest proponent of BRT that I know of. As an organization, their love of bus rapid transit is shared by the leading transportation and livable streets advocacy organizations in San Francisco. That group includes, among others, SFBC, SPUR, Livable City, etc. — ostensibly pro-walk, pro-bike, pro-transit organizations.

Something I’d otherwise be excited about, this is the first time I remember Streetsblog actively soliciting interest about bringing Streetsblog to other towns. If you want BRT in your town, holla:

Do you want to see a Streetsblog in your city? Let us know. And if you’ve got any story ideas for Bryan and Matthew to cover, shoot them an e-mail.

Here’s to hoping I’m spectacularly wrong about BRT.
