Send A ‘Video Thank You’
Since non-profits don’t have enough work to do, I’d like to recommend they do even more work, by thinking about sending a ‘Video Thank You’ to supporters.
What is it?
Well, I guess it could be a bunch of things, but at its simplest, it’s just the members of your organization shooting a very quick video and thanking supporters - financial supporters (individuals and businesses), volunteers, etc.
The idea comes from the fantastic Innocence Project - whose video I saw up at the top of the YouTube home page:
What would be the purpose of the video?
One, just to express sincere thanks. Email sucks — too impersonal, mechanized, sterile.
Another potential benefit is that you may be able to increase support for your organization by making staff more real to the people who don’t know you, and may never actually get to meet you in person. We’ve talked about the power of visuals.
