More Bad News For Cleveland BRT
Not sure why it took RTA Healthline officials two weeks to release the news, but someone waiting at a BRT stop on Euclid Avenue had a seizure, fell into a coma, and got robbed.
They got the robber on camera - sort of. The guy’s picture is not clear because, although it’s a ’state of art security system,’ the camera hasn’t been focused yet.
Hey - I’m just reporting what the local Cleveland TV affiliate is reporting - if they say the state of art security system didn’t have its camera focused yet, then I have to take their word for it. Inquiring minds might want to know why that camera wasn’t focused after the new BRT system was already in operation for more than two full weeks, but I’ll let the spinmeisters at RTA handle that.
Oddly, the reporter in the video says that the criminal is ‘dangerous.’ Really? Is that because he’s black? Damn, Cleveland - get your passive racism off the stupid box, please.
Also wanted to add - not as a defense, but because racism is always looking to rear its ugly head - that it’s possible the robber thought his victim was just passed out from being drunk. Still a crime and all that, but maybe not quite as despicable as if the robber had known the victim was having a serious health crisis.
