East Palo Alto: Woman Fatally Shot While Riding Bicycle
Police are investigating the death of a woman who was shot while riding her bike Friday night.
Cara Jean Parks, a 39-year-old East Palo Alto resident, was bicycling near the corner of Hunter Street and Purdue Avenue at 8:25 p.m. when she was struck by one bullet and killed. Paramedics responded and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Captain Carl Estelle said there are no suspects, and the few witnesses were only able to provide minimal information.
This is not necessarily bike-related, except to show that we can actually be pretty vulnerable to crime when we’re on a bike as opposed to in a car.

Our Family would like to know who and why Cara was killed. We need closure. Not that there will be any REAL exceptable answers for taking her life!
