Crappy Eugene BRT Offers Free Rides

by Peter Smith

The Emerald Express (EmX) BRT runs in the Eugene-Springfield metro area. The peope who designed the system expected overflow crowds, so they did what any optimistic BRT operator would do - they made it free to ride.

First, check out the propaganda video - and watch for the disappearing cyclist - who didn’t even have a bike lane:

Now check out this freaky video from some kid in Eugene who apparently wants to be a new cheesy anchor (sorry, not embeddable).

LTD is the lame-named transit organization responsible for this EmX disaster. But have no fear - they’re going to let residents vote on which parts of their transit services they want to cut.

Be careful, LTD - that whole ‘democracy’ thing is a double-edged sword. You were probably not that trusting of democracy, though - you probably kept the EmX off ‘the cut list’ didn’t you?

  1. Notice how at the end of their jingle they had the words “no clicity clack”

    Bogus Rapid Transit indeed!
