Vote YES on Measure KK
Were Measure KK to pass, they tell us, BRT would be depantsed in the East Bay, and subsequently put out of commission - I don’t believe it.
Still, bike nuts should vote ‘Yes’ on Measure KK. If we’re going to be taking lanes away from cars, we should be giving them to bikes and pedestrians. Since Telegraph will get to keep existing bike lanes - in theory - a ‘Yes’ vote on measure KK will be a way to help ensure that those lanes stick around.
Further, bike advocates should push for Copenhagen-style bike lanes - which have been mimiced far and wide, including most recently on New York City’s 9th Avenue. Regular bike lanes are no longer good enough.
We’re not satisfied and we’ll not be satisfied until transportation justice rolls down like water and there’s a physically-separated bike path on every street.
