Lake Merritt area to see new bike lanes
Lake Merritt is a beautiful area of Oakland - it will be great to see some new bike lanes:

Both Lakeside Drive and Lakeshore Avenue are scheduled for an overhaul. Four lanes of traffic on each will be reduced to two auto lanes, and bike lanes will be added. A left-hand turn lane will run down the middle of Lakeshore, and a right-side parking aisle will be added to Lakeside.
