St. Frankenstein, The San Francisco PianoBike
Yesterday while out for a quick ride around town, I met Gary St. Frankenstein, rider / player / master of the St. Frankenstein piano-bike:

If you’ve been to a few Giants games, you may have seen Gary riding or playing his wicked-cool contraption. I stopped to ask Gary a bit about the bike — he built it from hand, using an almost-worn out piano (which, fortunately, had no broken strings), and part of a cruiser.
Cool stuff!
I rode down from my neighborhood (Dogpatch) towards AT&T Park, and when I saw there was a game going, I decided to plop down in the grass across from the stadium. Great scene.
More pictures, below. In the short video clip, you can just about see the SFBC valet bike parking door. I had to take a video to try to capture how cool, almost surreal, taking in a Giants game can be.
…I originally thought ‘St. Frankenstein’ was just the name of Gary’s bike, but according to this SF Chronicle picture and caption, it’s actually his last name as far as I can tell.
